Left side: write

index.html

Your whole app. Changes show in the preview as you type (turn this off under View → Auto-run).

AI Assistant

Describe an app or a change in plain words, or attach a screenshot. It writes or edits the code for you.

Console

Your app's logs and errors. You can also type JavaScript here and it runs inside your app.

The Console is the fastest way to learn the SDK. Try one line at a time:

javascript
await window.vos.app.getInfo()
await window.vos.fs.readDir("home")
await window.vos.fs.writeFile("home/Documents", "hello.md", "# Hi")

Multi-line commands

Press Shift+Enter for a new line and Enter to run. ↑ on the first line brings back earlier commands.

Preview

Your app in a real VibeOS window, with the same SDK and permission checks as an installed app. Click Run to restart it from scratch.

Files

A test home folder for the preview. See what your app saved, open and edit files, or add files to test with. It's separate from your real VibeOS files.

Info and Manifest

Info

Name, icon, window size, description and permissions. Permission changes apply to the preview straight away, so you can test what happens when access is missing.

Manifest

The finished .vibe file the IDE builds from your code and Info. This is what you submit and what people install.

Save and publish

ButtonWhat it does
SaveThe first time, asks for the app details and adds it to My apps. After that, saves your changes to the same app. You stay in the editor.
Publish…Sends your app (or an update) to the App Center for review.
My appsOpens one of your saved apps. Save then updates that app.
App → Start from templateBegin from a published app's code.
App → Download manifestSaves the .vibe file to your computer.

Your work is kept in this browser while you edit, so signing in or reloading won't lose it. Apps already in the App Center keep their live version until an update is approved. More in Publish your app.
